Janice C. Loebl, 91, Gainesville, died Friday at Dogwood Forest.
Prior to moving to Gainesville, she was a Speech Pathologist for the Pinellas County School System in St. Petersburg, Florida. Loebl moved to Gainesville in 1968 with her husband, Robert, an assistant professor at Gainesville Junior College (now University of North Georgia/Gainesville).
She established the Speech Pathology Program for the Hall County School System and directed the program until her retirement in 1986. Loebl was active in numerous church, civic, and community organizations and was on the first board of directors for the Hall County Credit Union. She attended St. Michael's Catholic Church where she was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the Homebound until age 85.
A memorial service will be held at St. Michael's Wednesday at 11:00.
