The win clinches a playoff spot in Region 8-AA for the Dragons (7-2, 5-1 Region 8-AA) who will close out the regular season next week against Union County on the road. They can clinch the no. 2 seed with a win next week.
Jefferson used a 35-point second quarter to blow the game open. Sammy Williams added two touchdowns and Chandler Thompson had a 52-yard TD run for Jefferson. T.J. Skelton had a 46-yard touchdown run and also threw a 16-yard TD pass to Blake.
Skelton finished 12-of-14 for 210 yards passing for Jefferson.
Riverside's Collin Pettell was 15-of-28 for 295 yards and two touchdowns. Raleigh Beougher had a 90-yard kickoff return for the Eagles.
The Dragons may have gotten some bad news. Tight-end Donnie Hatfield left the game with an injury and did not return.
