Meanwhile, the Chestatee offense continued to roll up huge numbers. The War Eagles ran for 327 yards, paced by 116 yards from quarterback Wyatt Burgess. Zac Cheshire added 93 yards rushing for the War Eagles.
Tray Bryant had 58 yards rushing and scored twice for the War Eagles.
The Chestatee defense sacked Lumpkin quarterback Daniel McCrary seven times and picked off four passes but McCrary finished with 292 yards passing for the Indians.
Johnathan Gilreath caught eight passes for 189 yards and one touchdown for Lumpkin County.
Blake Buffington was all over the field for Chestatee rushing for 26 yards and a touchdown, recovering a fumble, intercepting three passes, and returning a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown.
Chestatee (7-1, 5-0 Region 8-AAAA) will hit the road next week against No. 4 Monroe Area as the two teams will battle for the region title. The winner will take the region crown and the loser will finish second.
Lumpkin County (1-7, 1-4) will play host to Lanier next week.
