The Elberton 12 County Fair is bringing to a close its 80th-annual event, opening at 2 p.m. with half-price gate admission. Both the fair and carnival opens at 2 p.m., with live bands free until 6 p.m. on the Coke Entertainment Stage.
The fair - voted "One of the 10 Great Places for Blue Ribbon County Fairs" in USA Today in 2010 - serves 10 northeast Georgia counties, as well as two counties in South Carolina.
The fairgrounds is located at 450 N. Oliver St., Elberton.
