The Collings Foundation is bringing three World War II aircraft to the Blairsville airport Oct.21-23: a P-51 Mustang, a B-24 Liberator (the only one like it still flying), and a B-17.
This is a flying museum to honor veterans, according to the organizers, and for the public to come out to see, touch, and even take flights in one of the aircraft.
There will be a charge for "up close" viewing of the planes and a "walk-through" of them: $12 for adults, $6 for children under 12. World War II veterans can walk through at no charge.
The cost to take a flight is $425 per person for a 30-minute ride in either the B-17 or B-24. For the P-51, it is $2,200 for a half-hour or $3,200 for a full hour. Reservations: 1-800-568-8924.
