The walk will begin at 7:00 at the Elks Club on Riverside Drive and Green's Grocery on Ronnie Green Parkway and end at the school on Enota Avenue about 7:30.
About 250 are expected to make the trek from those two locations along with their parents or guardians, teachers and community leaders. The idea, organizers say, is to walk to school together with a purpose - to promote health, safe walking or biking routes to school, physical activity and concern for the environment.
Now in its 14th year nationwide, Walk to School Day is expected to include 3,000 schools from all 50 states.
