Girls basketball: Chestatee storms to win over Monroe Area

MONROE -- The Chestatee girls basketball team defeated Monroe Area 47-36 on Friday in Monroe.

The Lady War Eagles (14-3, 2-0 Region 8-AAAA) clamped down on Monroe early, allowing just four first quarter points en route to a 28-10 lead at halftime.

Maegan Kenimer dominated with 30 points, while Bridgette Kelly scored six points.

Chestatee plays host to Madison County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
