ATLANTA - When the Georgia General Assembly begins Monday, Gov. Nathan Deal says he hopes to increase funding for the HOPE Scholarship program.
Gov. Deal told WSB-TV he is looking to increase funding to the scholarship program by 3-percent because of growing Georgia Lottery revenues.
It was two years ago that Gov. Deal cut HOPE scholarship benefits as well a portions of the HOPE-funded state pre-K program because lottery revenues had dropped.
