Rabun whips Social Circle

SOCIAL CIRCLE -- Rabun County used a 21-point second quarter to blow open a close game en route to a 49-23 win over Social Circle Friday night in both teams' Region 8-AA openers.

The Wildcats (3-1, 0-1 in region) were paced by Kendall Woodard, who had 115 yards and one touchdown rushing. Wes Holcombe threw for 126 yards and one touchdown for Rabun County.

The Wildcat defense held Social Circle to just 231 total yards.
