Hosted by Chestatee High School, this year's invitational run attracted 18 teams, according to race organizers.
The weather was a challenge with temperatures on the course soaring into the 90+ degree range. At least four competitors in the varsity girls competition, which started at 5:00 p.m., required medical attention for heat-related illnesses. All were treated at the scene and released to their teams.
The tighest race came in the varsity girls competition with North Forsyth High School's Lochlain Corliss edging out Chestatee High School's Tori Mullinax by just four-tenths of a second.
Tucker LoCicero of North Hall High School topped the field in the varsity boys race with a time of 17.48.
The North Forsyth varsity girls won the team competition for the day, while North Hall took first place in the varsity boys race.
