The Lady Wolves took a 4-2 win over Class AAAAAA tenth-ranked North Forsyth and then knocked off Class AAA No. 3 Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe 6-1 in the second game.
Buford scored single runs in three of the final four innings to pull away from North Forsyth. Sophomore pitcher Bria Bush earned her fifth win of the season going the distance. Bush allowed five hits and struck out season-high eight batters.
Senior Jazmin Hawkins had two hits and scored twice and Bush and freshman Drew Puckett each had a hit and one RBI for Buford. Junior Niki Cook and sophomore Sydney Stavro each had two hits for the Lady Wolves.
Against LFO, Buford scored four runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run triple from Remington Hasty, and then cruised to the win. That was more than enough for Bekah Rude, who went four innings allowing six hits and one run.
Senior Alexis Baldy had two hits, including an inside-the-park home run.
Buford (9-0) will open its Region 7-AAA schedule on Monday, travelling to West Hall (8-7).
