Even in a lagging economy, many businesses say they've found their chamber membership invaluable.
Tony Paramore with Gainesville Paint and Decorating said the company, which also includes Budget Carpet, made a return to the chamber after a three year absence. He said the business has definitely been helped by its chamber affiliation.
"[We've learned] how to run our business better, so it [membership] ends up being something that saves us money and makes us money versus something that just costs us money," said Paramore.
He noted, too, that membership in the Greater Hall Chamber is not just reserved for the larger businesses in the area.
"Anything from one-person businesses all the way, you know, to the largest businesses in Hall County can benefit from it. There are even special seminars that are designed specifically for smaller businesses," said Paramore.
Budget Carpet and Gainesville Paint & Decorating is hosting the membership kickoff Thursday at the store at 662 Main Street. Paramore said The Varsity will be catering the event, which runs from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The membership drive for new businesses continues until September 18.
