Student charged with threats against Kent State

CLEVELAND - Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old Kent State University student who posted a message on Twitter saying he planned to "shoot up" the campus.<br /> <br /> WEWS-TV reports ( http://bit.ly/NCLevo ) that William Koberna was arrested at his parents' home in Brunswick Sunday afternoon. He's been charged with inducing panic, a felony, and aggravated menacing.<br /> <br /> A university spokesman said Sunday night the tweet was posted July 25.<br /> <br /> Koberna is to be arraigned in court on Monday. He also faces hearings that can result in his suspension or dismissal from the university.<br /> <br /> Kent State University President Lester A. Lefton said in a statement, "Our students, employees, and all those who come to campus should know that their safety is our top priority. Any threat to our campus community is taken seriously and immediately investigated."
