GAINESVILLE - Publix Super Markets has teamed up with United Way of Hall County to collect school supplies through the School Tools for Cool Kids program. You can stop by one of the six Publix stores in Hall County between now and August 12 to purchase and/or drop off school supplies in School Tools bins.

"We encourage customers to donate school supplies to help Hall County's children begin the school year on a level playing field," said Brenda Reid, media and community relations manager for Publix Super Markets.

All Publix stores will have a School Tools for Cool Kids display near the front of the store. The display will have pre-packaged supplies for elementary, middle and high school students. The prices will range between $5 and $10. Customers may pick up a bag and have it scanned with their grocery order. Also, customers may donate school supply items from home instead of purchasing bags.

"All school supplies are needed, especially notebook and copier paper, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, folders, spiral notebooks and rulers," Reid added.

Gainesville City and Hall County school systems will participate in this year's School Tools for Cool Kids campaign.
