Early voting begins with high turnout in Hall Co.

GAINESVILLE - It's been a busy week at the Hall County Elections Office.

"It was a big surprise for me, I wasn't expecting to have about 300 voters or more per day, but we have," said Hall County Elections Director Charlotte Sosebee.

Sosebee said the decreased number of days voters now have to cast their ballots early may have impacted voter turnout, as well as the number of high profile races and questions on the ballot.

Whatever the reason, she said it's not been a typical start to the early voting process.

"For a first day of early voting, I have never seen 300 or so people come in and cast their ballots," said Sosebee.

She said she also wanted to remind voters that the Hall County Elections Office has moved to the corner of McEver Road and Browns Bridge Road in the old Liberty Mutual building.
