More retail outlets planned on Dawsonville Hwy. near Beechwood Blvd.

GAINESVILLE - Plans are in the works for more commercial development on Dawsonville Highway near the new Olive Garden and Cheddar's restaurants.

The Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board will be asked July 10 to approve the rezoning of nearly five acres on the east side of Dawsonville Highway, across from Beechwood Boulevard, to General Business.

The application from America's Home Place, Inc., indicates the property, if rezoned, will be used for "retail business, restaurant and vehicle services."

Also on the July 10 agenda is a request from Jonathan Pope to rezone at tract at 135 North Avenue from Neighborhood Conservation to Residential and Office. A law office is planned on the site.
