Any pet "parents" in the Atlanta and northeast Georgia area are invited to enter their pets in the calendar fundraiser, and any animal is eligible - from dogs and cats to ponies and fish - for entry. Thirteen lucky finalists will be chosen to be featured in the 2013 Life Savers Calendar, and each finalist will receive a professional photography session and an 8x10 portrait from Celestial Studios in Gainesville, valued at $200.
"Last year, more than 160 proud pet parents submitted photos of their pets for the fundraiser, and we hope to increase that number this year," says Rick Aiken, HSNEGA President. "The calendar fundraiser is a wonderful way to showcase beloved pets of our supporters while generating much needed monies to support the rescued, homeless animals in our care."
The tax-deductible entry fee donation for the calendar is $20 for the first pet and $10 for each additional pet with no limit on the number of pets a participant can enter. Photos will be accepted through June 30. All entered photos are guaranteed to be included in the calendar gallery and the 13 finalists will be featured in the calendar as a "Pet of the Month."
The calendar will be printed and available for sale in September. All monies raised from the entry fees and sale of the calendar will be used to support the rescued, homeless animals at HSNEGA until they are adopted, including covering costs for their shelter and nourishment, vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery.
