A graduate of North Georgia College, Hyder began his banking career at First Federal Savings & Loan and was an organizing Director and Executive Vice President of Georgia First Bank, which opened in 1985. Georgia First Bank later merged with Century South Bank, which eventually merged with BB&T. Hyder started Chase Mortgage Corporation in 1993, where he served as President for 19 years prior to joining HeritageBank's Mortgage Division.
