Brendan J. Spaar of Cumming is charged with four counts each of child molestation and sexual exploitation of children, as well as three counts of computer pornography, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
Spaar allegedly created a page on Facebook, posing as a 16-year-old girl. According to investigators, Spaar then used the bogus identity to meet boys online.
He allegedly enticed some of them to send sexually explicit photos and video of themselves to him through their cell phones. The boys believed they were communicating with a South Forsyth High School girl named Kinsey Spencer. Authorities said that girl does not exist.
The molestation charges come under a new law, according to Investigator J.D. Roe of the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit of the Criminal Investigations Division. If anyone electronically sends sexually explicit images of anyone under the age of 16, they can be charged with molestation.
"There could be other victims we are not aware of," Investigator Roe said. "If anyone recognizes the name that Spaar was posing under and had contact with him through this fictitious site, please contact the Sheriff's Office at 770-781-2200."
