Officials at the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority said the funding will go to the town of Alto, the Sinclair Water Authority and Paulding County.
Alto will receive a more than $500,000 loan to replace a leaking iron water main with more than 13,000 feet of new pipe.
Meanwhile, water officials in Sinclair will receive a loan to install a new raw water pump and drive at a pump station, increasing its reliability and energy efficiency.
Paulding County officials will receive a $2.8 million loan to conduct the necessary environmental engineering surveys and studies before deciding whether to pursue building the proposed Richland Creek Reservoir.
