A life-long Hall County resident and business executive, Darla Eden has announced her candidacy for Tax Commissioner. Eden is the fourth candidate to announce intentions to run for the position being vacated by Keith Echols at the end of the year.

"Having worked in the private sector, the Hall County Finance Department as Director and as the County's auditor, my work experience has prepared me for the needs and responsibilities of the Tax Commissioner's office," Eden stated in a press release Saturday. "I very much look forward to returning to public service and making a positive difference in my hometown."

Eden cited her direct experience with government finance operations and departments, having served as Hall County's Finance Director from 1998 until 2000 and county auditor for six years prior.

"My priorities are to ensure accuracy by implementing quality controls and overseeing consistent accounting processes, working efficiently with the municipalities and to emphasize professionalism throughout the department ensuring taxpayer interactions are handled in a responsible and efficient manner," explained Eden.

Working in the private sector, Eden managed finance/accounting departments for private businesses. She is employed full-time as CFO for the Jim Walters Companies.
