BRASELTON - Local and federal authorities said it appears they have a case of arson on their hands after a car was found burning in the driveway of a Braselton home early Thursday morning.

Braselton Assistant Police Chief Lou Solis told Fox 5 News the car was sitting in the driveway of a home on Loowit Falls Court. Neighbors heard an explosion and called 9-1-1 around 2:00 a.m.

Solis said it appeared that an accelerant of some type was poured on the vehicle and then a trail of the substance was placed along the driveway and lit, almost like a fuse.

No one was hurt.

The family told authorities they did not know why anyone would target them. Another vehicle in the driveway was not disturbed.

Solis said local and federal authorities will continue the investigation Friday.
