Gwinnett County Police said it appears 39-year-old James Etheridge of Dacula lost control of the vehicle on Mount Moriah Road between Clark Drive and High Point Drive, struck a guardrail, went down an embankment and struck several small trees.
They said the wreckage and Etheridge, who died on scene, were not visible from the roadway. Authorities said it's unknown at this time whether or not drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor in the crash.
The investigation into the accident continues.
