Tennis: GHS boys hold off West Hall

GAINESVILLE -- Gainesville swept the singles matches to take a tough 3-2 win over West Hall Thursday in Region 8B-AAA boys tennis action at Longwood Park.

Conner McMorrow beat Max Wilson 7-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Austin Miller knocked off Connor McFall 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles,and Jackson Goble beat Grayson Kyle 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for the Elephants.

West Hall won both doubles matches with Brenden Worth and Tatum Scroggs beating Graham McKinnon and Jake Maddox 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1. Sam Pinson and Min Kim rallied froma set down to beat Jake McCardel and Alexander Davis 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

With the loss West Hall falls to 12-5 overall and 8-3 in subregion play.
