Tennis: Lady War Eagles win tight match over Johnson

OAKWOOD -- Chestatee's No. 1 doubles team of Katie Arthur and Grace Brown toughed out a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 win over Johnson's Ashley Hogan and Karina Rivera to help the Lady War Eagles edge Johnson 3-2 Monday.

Hogan and Rivera saved five match points for the Lady Knights before finally dropping the sixth.

Chestatee's No. 2 doubles team of Haley King and Carolina Gijon topped Johnson's Marissa Rodriguez and Riley McNeil 6-3, 7-5. Lauren McNitt secured the victory for the Lady War Eagles with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Natalie Crenshaw in the No. 3 singles match.

Johnson took the Nos. 1 and 2 singles matches with Maggie Turner topping Fernanda Arcaraz 6-0, 6-1 and Harlee Robson winning over Lily Kiang 6-1, 6-3.
