JEFFERSON -- Jefferson's Tyler Cole capped a five-run first inning with a grand slam to help lead the Dragons to an 8-4 win over North Oconee Monday in Region 8B-AA action.

Micah Carpenter was able to make Cole's blast stand up limiting the Titans to just five hits. North Oconee's only runs came on a third inning grand slam by Blake Gaubert.

Carpenter, Max Ford, Austin Thompson, and Trent Sorrells each had two hits for Jefferson. Carpenter and Andy Nicholas each had one RBI for the Dragons.

Gaubert's home run cut Jefferson's lead to 5-4 but the Dragons scored twice in the fourth and once in the sixth to put the game away.

Jefferson (7-6, 3-3 in subregion) next will play host to Oglethorpe County next Monday.
