Well-known Gainesville veterinarian, real estate developer dies

GAINESVILLE - A well-known Gainesville veterinarian and real estate developer has died.

Dr. V.C. Lovell, who was 80, died at his home Thursday following a brief illness.

The funeral will be at 3:30 Sunday at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel in Gainesville.

Dr. Lovell was a graduate of the University of Georgia and went on to earn a doctorate from the UGA School of Veterinary Medicine. He established veterinary clinics in Hall and White Counties and eventually established a successful career in real estate, land development and home construction. Lovell also owned and operated Universal Concrete Wall, Inc. in Habersham County.
