Track: North Hall teams have solid showing at Barberitos meet

WATKINSVILLE -- Both the North Hall boys and girls track teams had strong showings Saturday at the Oconee/Barberitos track meet.

The boys finished third out of eleven teams while the Lady trojans finished fifth out of 12 teams.

In the boys competition, Class AAAA Cedar Shoals won with 92.5 points. Fellow Region 8-AAA team Oconee County was second with 80 points and North Hall had 79.

For North Hall, Luis Gonzalez finished first in the 800-meter run with 2:00.6 time and second in the 1600 with a time 4:25.3. Tucker LoCicero took first in the 3200 with a 10:17.8 time and Witt Nix was second in the 800 with 2:01.7 time.

In the girls competition, Athens Christian won with 111 points, Cedar Shoals was second with 96, Central Gwinnet third with 88, North Oconee fourth with 63, and North Hall fifth with 59 points.

For North Hall, Victoria Rogers placed first in the 3200 with 12:06.8 time and second in the 1600 with a time of 5:39.4. Gabrielle Hoffman was second in the pole vault with a leap of 9-feet, 6-inches and third in the 100 hurdles with time pf 17.54.

North Hall's next track meet is Tuesday at White County.
