Soccer: Chestatee girls fall to Franklin (N.C.)

GAINESVILLE -- Chestatee fell behind early and could not catch up in a 2-1 loss to Franklin (N.C.) Friday in girls soccer action.

Franklin (3-1) scored the only goal of the first half when Brinkley Culpepper broke through three War Eagle defenders and notched a goal at the 28:33 mark. the Lady Panthers added to their lead mid-way through the second half off a goal from Kelsey Sheffield.

Chestatee got back in the game late when Hope Baxter converted Alexis Rebollar's corner-kick to close the gap, 2-1 with 9:15 remaining. But the Lady War Eagles (3-6-0) could not tie the game.

Chestatee next will play host to Hebron Christian on Tuesday.
