BATESVILLE - Two people were seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon near Batesville, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The accident happened about 4:45 p.m. on Oakey Mountain Road near Dean Cove Road when Terry Lynn Roth, 57, of Clarkesville attempted to negotiate a curve and laid the bike down on the roadway. Both Roth and his passenger, Dottie White Watson, 54, of Demorest were ejected from the motorcyle, according to investigators.

Troopers also said White slid under the rear tire of an oncoming vehicle.

Roth and White were airlifted to Greenville Medical for treatment. There is no word on the condition of either patient.
