Tennis: West Hall boys whip GHS

FLOWERY BRANCH -- West Hall improved to 3-1 in Region 8B-AAA after taking a 4-1 win over Gainesville Tuesday in boys tennis action at the Bobby Bailey Tennis Center.

The Spartans swept both doubles matches. Brenden Worth and Tatum Scroggs whipped Austin Miller and Jake Maddox 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 at No. 1 doubles while Austin Dyer and Connor Kirkland won a tough three-set match 6-4, 2-6, 7-5
over Jake McCardel and Charles Calkins at No. 2 doubles.

In singles, West Hall got wins at No. 1, where Max Wilson beat Connor McMorrow 6-3, 6-0 and at No. 2 where Connor McFall held off Graham McKinnon 6-2, 6-4.

The Elephants got their only win at No. 3 singles as Jackson Goble knocked off Min Kim 6-3, 6-1.

The Spartans will be back in action Wednesday on the road against Monroe Area.
