Tennis: Falcons handle Winder-Barrow

WINDER -- Flowery Branch swept the doubles in taking a 4-1 win over Winder-Barrow Tuesday in Region 8-AAAA boys tennis action.

Anthony Monacella and Christopher Hedden rallied from a set down to beat John Arnold and Chris Woodall 5-7,6-2,6-4 at No. 1 doubles while the No. 2 team of Isaac Black and Nathan Sengkhammee whipped Austin Pirkle and Sahmir Short 6-3, 6-3 in No. 2 doubles.

A.J. Morris took a 6-4, 6-3 win over Efa Osuegbu at No. 1 singles and Beau Millwood demolished Colby Woodall 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles to help clinch the match.

Winder-Barrow's lone win came at No. 2 singles with Tyler Tippens beating Cris Dilidili 7-6 (9-7),6-3.

The Falcons next will play host Clarke Central on Thursday in another Region 8-AAAA contest.
