Baseball: GHS holds off Jefferson

JEFFERSON -- David Gonzalez and Hunter Anglin combined for 11 strikeouts and limited Jefferson to just two hits in leading Gainesville to a 2-1 win over the Dragons Thursday in baseball action.

The Elephants scored a pair of runs in the third inning on a RBI hit from Michael Gettys and a run-scoring out from Skyler Webber. Jefferson plated one run in the fourth but could not crack through Anglin, who picked up the save in three innings of work.

Gonzalez earned the win for Gainesville. Gonzalez and Luke Moore each had one hit for the Elephants.

Jefferson's Max Ford took the loss but surrendered just three hits while fanning five.

Drew Carson and Kevin Ross each had one hit for the Dragons.
