Tennis: Chestatee boys sweep singles to beat Warriors

CLEVELAND -- The Chestatee boys tennis team improved to 3-1 in Region 8A-AAA play with a 4-1 win over White County in Cleveland Thursday night.

Jonathan Cook led the way at No. 1 singles remaining undefeated on the season with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Joe Dockery as Chestatee swept the singles matches. Jeremiah Reed won at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-3 over Logan Slay and Juan Carrion prevailed over Micah Houghton 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

In the night's most exciting match, Chestatee's No. 1 doubles team of Blaine Brown and Reed Johnson came from a set down and saved a match point to also remain undefeated on the season with a 2-6, 7-5, 7-5 victory over White County's Dee Chambers and James Bowers.

White County got its lone win at No. 2 doubles when Preston Biggers and Joseph Cathey defeated Casey Campbell and Dillan Stapler, 6-3, 6-0.
