Boys playoffs: No. 1 GAC too much for Dragons

NORCROSS -- Jefferson coach Bolin Dubose knew the Dragons had a tall task in the Sweet 16 round of the boys Class AA tournament Wednesday night against No. 1 Greater Atlanta Christian.

He was right. The Dragons fell behind 25-4 to the Spartans after the first quarter and never recovered in a 72-42 loss.

"We dug ourselves a big hole early and couldn't get out," Dubose said. "We held their inside guys to just 12 points but their outside shooters shot lights out. They are a very balanced, well-coached team."

Austin Thompson had 12 points to lead Jefferson. Andre Daniel added nine points for the Dragons.
