Boys playoffs: Wolves rally to beat Spencer in opening round

BUFORD -- Spencer owned the first eight minutes of its Class AA first round playoff game against Buford Saturday night.

The problem for the Greenwave was that there was still 24 minutes left in the game. Spencer led Buford 18-10 after the first quarter but the Wolves outscored the Greenwave 69-42 the rest of the way en route to a 79-60 win at the Buford gym.

Buford moves into the Sweet 16 and will travel to face Dawson County, which knocked off Calhoun 54-52 Saturday night.

T.J. Shipes paced Buford with 33 points, including hitting 11-of-12 free throws. Isaiah Williams had 14 points, Kyle Kellam 13 points, and A.J. Davis 12 points for the Wolves (21-7).
