Baseball: Dragons shut out rival Commerce

JEFFERSON -- Max Ford tossed a one-hitter over four innings with five strikeouts to lead Jefferson to 5-0 shutout of rival Commerce Thursday in baseball action.

Micah Carpenter and Ryan Johnson pitched the final three innings allowing no hits or runs while fanning five.

Drew Carson had three hits and four RBI to lead the Dragons offense. Johnson, Carpenter, and Trent Sorrells each had one hit for Jefferson (2-0).

Cody Streetman had the loine hit for Commerce. Sam Lewis tookm the loss for the Tigers lasting just 1 2/3 innings allowing four runs on just two hits but walked five.
