GAINESVILLE - A five-hour search Tuesday night for an elderly Alzheimer's patient from Hall County had a happy ending.

Hall County Sheriff's Office officials said the 86-year-old man was reported missing from his Chicopee home around 6:00 Tuesday night.

Canine units from Gainesville, Hall County and White County, along with the Georgia State Patrol found the missing man, whose name was not released, at 11:40 p.m. in a heavily wooded area near off Palmour Drive near Gainesville's Lee Gilmer Airport.

Authorities said he was evaluated by medical officials at the scene and returned to his home.
