Hall Co. authorities search for armed robbery suspect

GAINESVILLE - Hall County authorities are on the lookout for the man who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint in the northwest section of the county early Thursday morning.

Hall County Sheriff's Sergeant Stephen Wilbanks said the man entered the Kangaroo convenience store on Dawsonville Highway at Sardis Road around 3:45 a.m., brandished a handgun at the clerk and demanded money.

"The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 150 lbs. He has red facial hair," said Wilbanks.

Wilbanks said the clerk told authorities the suspect was wearing a dark-colored hooded shirt and a dark-colored skull cap.

Once the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of money, he left the scene in a white truck, according to Wilbanks.

The clerk was alone during the incident and was not hurt.
