Boys basketball: Gilmer knocks off White County

CLEVELAND -- Gilmer led 39-33 at halftime and then held off a third quarter charge by White County to hand the Warriors thier first loss of the season, 64-56 at the White County gym.

White County (2-1) cut the Bobcats lead to 49-47 heading into the fourth quarter but Gilmer used a 15-9 fourth quarter to pull away for the win.

Spencer Adams led White County with 12 points and Rand Rowland added 10 for the Warriors.

J.B. Charles paced the Bobcats with 26 points. Wheeler Lancey had 24 points and Corey Waters 11 points for Gilmer.

White County next will play host to Pickens on Friday.
