Girls basketball: Lady Tigers open season in impressive style

DAHLONEGA -- The Dawson County girls basketball team opened its season in impressive style with a 49-26 win over Lumpkjin County Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers (1-0) never trailed after opening the game with a 3-pointer. Senior point guard Carly Gilreath paced Dawson County with 18 points. Sheyenne Seabolt added nine points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Whitney Glover had six points and Karlie Bearden scored her first career varsity points and finished with two points.

the two teams will meet again Saturday in dawsonville in the Lady Tigers home opener.
