Gainesville Fire Capt. Keith Smith said during the course of the investigation Fire Marshal Chad Payne found suspicious burn patterns around the damaged home that possibly were caused intentionally by someone.
Smith said Payne is asking for the public's help as the investigation continues, particularly if there were any witnesses in the area Wednesday, November 7 around 4:30 p.m.
"The Arson Control Board will offer a reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction, and that reward can be up to $10,000," said Smith.
Smith said no one was hurt in the fire; all occupants were able to get out of the home. One person at the scene was taken to the hospital with fainting spells.
