GAINESVILLE -- Brenau soccer faces a huge showdown on Saturday, as the 17th-ranked Golden Tigers play host to No. 1 Lee University at the Allen Creek Complex in Gainesville.

The match will mark the end of the regular season for Brenau and give the Golden Tigers (12-3, 8-2 Southern States Athletic Conference) a shot to give Lee (13-1-1, 9-0) its only league defeat of the season.

The Golden Tigers are coming off a 3-0 defeat of SSAC foe Emmanuel College, while Lee enters on the back of a 5-0 defeat of Truett McConnell.

The contest is also highlighted on the national stage as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics is billing it as its "Game of the Week."

Currently the SSAC has five teams ranked in the NAIA's Top 25.

Saturday's soccer match will also highlight Brenau's lone senior, Taylor Bates (Locust Grove, Ga.). Bates will play in her last regular season match for the Tigers - completing her four-year tenure for Brenau that includes 63 matches. Teams that she has played on at Brenau have recorded 34 wins, 26 losses and seven ties during her tenure.

The match will kick-off at 4 p.m. at Allen Creek Soccer Complex.
