Volleyball: Lakeview stays alive in 6-A tourney

MONROE -- The Lakeview Academy girls volleyball team needs one more win to advance to the Class A state tournament.

The Lady Lions fell to Prince Avenue 25-12, 25-22 but then rebounded to stay alive by knocking off Talullah Falls 25-16, 26-24 in Area 6-A tournament.

Lakeview will play either Providence Christian or Hebron Christian on Saturday in Monroe for a spot in the state playoffs.

Katie Gay led Lakeview with 12 kills, four aces and 13 digs. Samantha Versteeg added 15 digs, Bailey Towles had 13 assists and three aces and Peaches Shipley and Shelby Ross had six blocks each for the Lady Lions.
