Lott began working with Georgia DOT in 2005 as an intern. He became a Transportation Engineer Associate in 2006 and started working full time. He was assigned to the Roadway Design Office in Atlanta. Lott worked his way up in the Design Office to become a Design Engineer Two in 2007 and transferred to the Northeast Georgia District Design Unit in 2008.
Last year, he was promoted to Project Manager facilitating the pre-construction process. Lott's new position as a Traffic Operations Manager will include his current responsibilities as well as district-wide traffic engineering studies, signal timing studies, safety enhancement reviews, citizen complaint investigations and speed zone/radar ordinance coordination. Lott has one of two Traffic Operations Manager positions in Northeast Georgia.
Lott graduated from Georgia Tech in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He earned his Professional Engineer's License in 2011.

Justin is a native of Braselton and currently lives in Lula with his wife Shanda. They are the parents of seven-month-old Scarlett.
