Dawson Co. manager announces bid for Ga. House

DAWSONVILLE - The county manager for Dawson County has announced his candidacy for the State House District 9 seat.

Kevin Tanner said Wednesday he will seek the post currently held by Rep. Amos Amerson, who is expected to announce his retirement in the near future.

The new State House District 9 is comprised of Lumpkin County and parts of Dawson and Hall Counties.

Dawsonville resident Clint Smith, who has previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives, announced his candidacy for the position last week.
