Girls basketball: Franklin County stuns Chestatee

CARNESVILLE -- Franklin County held Chestatee to just 15 points through the first three quarters en route tp a 51-40 win in Region 8A-AAA girls basketball action Friday night.

The Lady Lions led throughout holding leads of 12-6 after the first quarter and 29-13 at halftime. Franklin County put the game away holding the Lady War Eagles (10-6, 1-2 in subregion) to just two points in the third quarter.

Chestatee madse the final score closer by outscoring the Lady Lions (3-12, 2-1) 25-12 in the fourth quarter.

Maegan Kenimer had a double-double for Chestatee with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Bridgette Kelly added 10 points and Emily Crain nine points for the Lady War Eagles.
