Deal: West Ga. plant could employ more than 400

GREENVILLE - Gov. Nathan Deal announced that a South Korea-based firm plans to open a high-tech manufacturing facility in west Georgia which could lead to more than 400 jobs.

Deal said in a statement that Mando Corp. plans to build the facility in an industrial park in Meriwether County, about 60 miles southwest of Atlanta.

Deal said the company plans to invest $200 million and create 426 jobs by opening the new facility.

Mando's Georgia plant is expected to supply electric power steering gears and anti-lock brakes to vehicle manufacturers such as Chrysler, General Motors, Hyundai and Kia.

Deal said Mando plans to employ about 200 people initially with anticipated growth leading to 426 jobs.
