In making the announcement Rogers said, "Habersham and White Counties have long been represented by a strong conservative voice, and I'd like to continue that tradition. This district has been hit hard by the economic downturn, and we must continue our fight on the state level to lower taxes, reduce expenses, and control government. I am committed to that fight."
Rogers is founder and Managing Partner of Diversified Technologies, a recycled plastics brokerage firm located in Clarkesville. He ran an unsuccessful race last year against Butterworth who was re-elected to the state Senate.
