BLAIRSVILLE - A fast-growing cable company is opening its newest manufacturing plant in the north Georgia town of Blairsville, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

LaRhonda Jackson with GDEcD said that Advanced Digital Cable will locate the new facility in Blairsville, creating 60 jobs and investing $4.2 million in the community.

"I believe 60 jobs is the largest job creation project for Union County in 15 years," said Jackson.

Advanced Digital Cable (ADC) manufactures a broad range of communications and industrial cables. The company was founded in 1997 in Hayesville, N.C. and, according to the company website, all of the company's products are manufactured in the United States.

ADC is purchasing an existing building in Blairsville Airport Regional Industrial park where it will begin later this fall to manufacture larger cables for instrumentation and control, QPL cables, PV cables for solar arrays and flat cabling for pumping and irrigation. Georgia Quick Start, the state's top-ranked provider of customized workforce training, will help the company begin operations the day it opens.

ADC is now accepting applications at [email protected].
